Keep your profile accurate without publishing information you would not want a stranger to know. Use a separate, strong password for your account and do not share passwords, one-time codes, identity documents, banking details or your home address. Read the profile carefully, and give yourself permission to decline a request that feels rushed or unclear.
While you are getting to know someone
Keep early messages in the platform when possible, ask clear questions and notice whether answers stay consistent. Treat a verification tick as one identity-related signal, not proof of every claim or intention. Pressure to move quickly, keep secrets, send money or leave the platform can be a reason to slow down and reassess.
Before an offline meeting
Choose a public place, arrange your own travel and tell a trusted person where you will be. Do not rely on a new acquaintance for transport, accommodation, money, immigration advice or emergency help. You can cancel or leave a meeting at any time if you feel uncomfortable or unsafe.
If something does not feel right
Stop contact, preserve relevant messages or dates and use the available reporting tools. Do not confront someone who may be unsafe or try to investigate them alone. If there is immediate danger, contact local emergency services first; platform support is not an emergency service.
